Jennifer Smith

Jennifer Smith is a yoga teacher dedicated to teaching the yogic lifestyle through helping her students appreciate the process and not just the goal.  Jennifer empowers her students on and off the mat with the message to never give up, but always let go.  She teaches with a tangible energy and ingenuity that compels her students to trust the process and find the best in themselves.  She firmly believes in using perseverance, honesty, and universal morality to help guide students to their path to true happiness.  Jennifer’s approach to teaching has been formed by her deep interest in medicine.  Graduating from Monmouth University with concentrations in biology and psychology she realized that western medicine could only offer so much; she then became dedicated to finding other alternatives.  She studied Hatha yoga and Ayurveda in Rishikesh, India then also concentrated on Ashtanga under Caroline Klebl.  Her teaching style blends yogic therapy, with mindful sequencing and correct alignment while focusing on the breath to create a moving meditation.  Her teaching and energy create a refuge for her students while pushing them to grow beyond their expectations.  Her teaching styles include Hatha, Ashtanga, children’s, vinyasa flow, power, restorative, Yin, meditation, and Pranayama with a touch of Reiki.  With practice, we can shed the layers of our egos to let our true selves shine!

Who can enroll in a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training?

Anyone passionate about yoga, regardless of their level of experience, can enroll in a 200-hour teacher training. It’s suitable for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.

What will I learn during the training?

You’ll learn a wide range of topics, including yoga philosophy, anatomy, alignment, teaching techniques, meditation, and more. The training covers the foundations of yoga practice and teaching.

How long does a 200-hour training program take to complete?

This 200-hour program spans 10 weeks, meeting Saturdays and Sundays only.

Is the training physically demanding?

While yoga teacher training does involve physical practice and asana (posture) work, it is adapted to suit various fitness levels. Modifications and adjustments are provided, ensuring inclusivity.

What certification will I receive upon completion?

Upon successfully completing the program and meeting the requirements, you’ll receive a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training certification recognized by Yoga Alliance, allowing you to teach yoga worldwide.

Can I teach yoga after completing the training?

Yes, you will be qualified to teach yoga classes independently or at yoga studios, gyms, wellness centers, and more. Many graduates start their own yoga classes or join established studios.

Are there any prerequisites for enrollment?

While there are no strict prerequisites, a consistent yoga practice before the training can be beneficial. It’s important to have a genuine interest in yoga and a willingness to learn.

Can I continue working while doing the training?

Yes, the training is weekends only.

What should I bring to the training?

You’ll need comfortable yoga attire, a yoga mat, laptop or note-taking materials, the required texts and an open heart and mind.

Is there an assessment or final exam?

Yes. There is a final written exam and a practicum where students lead a 60 minute yoga class.

Is there additional hours outside of the weekend training dates?

Yes, there are 60 practice hours required to receive your certificate as well as any hours used for homework and reading

If I am absent how do I make up?

All classes will need to be made up. Lead instructor will guide you on how to do that but in any case that the instructor needs assist in makeups will need to pay their hourly rate.
